Ever since I published How I Graduated from Harvard, Turned Down Google, Got a Job On Twitter, and Why I’m Joining Clicker, for some crazy reason I’ve been asked constantly for advice on how to get a job at a startup. Luckily, instead of writing my typical uber-long email (and apologies to people I’ve done that for already), I can now direct them to this awesome blog post. I was approached by the incredible Jason Shen to collaborate on a post that would give people advice & tips from our experience and here’s what came out:

We’ve shared pretty similar (sometimes shockingly so) paths to working at the sweet startups we do now– and we’re hoping this advice will spark some people to take action (especially in the beginning of a brand spankin’ new school year). Also, while this post contains a lot of useful info for anyone interested in working at a startup, it’s specifically geared towards non-engineers– here’s the guide we wish we had back then (and, if you like it, share it!).
