Derek Flanzraich is an entrepreneur on a mission to help the world think about health with a healthy attitude. He is the founder and CEO of Greatist, a next-generation media startup working to build the first truly-trusted, consumer-facing health brand for Millennials. Greatist is currently the fastest-growing media site in the digital health space, with  10 million unique visitors per month.

Derek was previously with Clicker (acquired by CBS) and NBC Universal’s Digital Entertainment Strategy & Operations. He graduated with an A.B. from Harvard College. He has been building brands and organizations that last since he founded The Wizard Chronicles, a student life periodical, in fifth grade. (He still really loves wizards. Also theme parks and theme bars. Especially if they have to do with wizards.)

To date, Greatist has raised $8 million in financing from private investors, won three People's Voice Webby Awards in a row, and been features in Fortune, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, AdAge, and AdWeek. It has also been named one of the 15 Best Startups to Work For in America by Business Insider/Turnstone.

Since launching Greatist in 2011, Derek has been widely quoted as a digital health expert and an up-and-coming entrepreneur in top-tier consumer and business publications including Forbes, Lifehacker, Mashable, Inc, and many more. In addition, he has appeared on several major local and national television shows including The Weather Channel, G4TV Attack of the Show, CBS New York’s Live from the Couch, Fox News Health, Huffington Post Live, Mixergy, and more.

He's a proud Advisory Board member of STOKED, an incredible nonprofit bent on empowering underprivileged youth through adventure sports.
